First, here is an overview of the oil and gas industry. The crude oil industry is involved in the exploration, extraction, output and selling of oil products. Crude oil, or petroleum, may be classified as a fossil fuel since it is believed to have been formed from the fossilized remains of dead plant life and other creatures. After millions of years of heat and pressure these materials formed oil reservoirs that are located all over the world.
The modern world runs for the most part on petroleum and its products. It is used in the production of a large number of chemical products, various plastics and fuels. The various operations of this industry may be parted into 3 sections.
Section #1: Oil exploration, production and development.
Section #2: Transportation of oil via oil tankers and pipelines.
Section #3: Marketing and selling oil products to consumers.
Next we may take a look at a few oil and gas drilling jobs. Drillers are in charge of controlling the drilling gear and they are responsible for drilling the holes. Mud engineers are in charge of the fluids being used for drilling. They need to have a solid knowledge of chemistry as well as drilling routines. Roughnecks help with the operation of the drilling equipment as instructed by the driller. A tool pusher is usually an expert driller who works in the oil rig offices and on the rig floor.
Oil and gas drilling jobs are not for the lazy or the weak. You need physical strength and mental stamina as well as the willingness to work in remote places. Oil production jobs are often dirty, greasy and somewhat risky. However, they do pay well and oil companies can take good care of their employees.

Bogalusa News Managed By Morons And Losing Money In The Downturn
I posted about a year ago how that the Bogalusa Daily News was lagging far behind in management because they refuse to step into the future.
I guess they read the post because they did do a site redesign, but still lack enough intellegence to really make a go of it. It is obvious that they are lacking in understanding on what they should do to make their online presence make the paper better and more profitable.
These idiots fall into the same catagory as most other news papers across the country and can not seem to get it through their heads that the low cost of operating a website can make them a lot of money by using social groups to bring daily traffic.
I just went to them a few mins ago to see if they had any classifieds sold in that section, and not one ad! How pathetic they are.
In as little as 90 days I could make a few changes to their system and generate an additional 10 k per month in revenue both online and offline by doing things the right way instead of the way they are working right now.
The first thing they need to come to reality on is that people who do not have jobs will not place ads when they can place free ads online and in print. With sites like craigslist, backpage.com and the print paper of the timberland advertiser, they are losing readership.
I, like many buy a paper just for the classifieds, but they have none. So they , out of greed keep charging for ads from the people, when the people are the reason that businesses buy ads in the first place.
Want to know what I would do to turn it around? Let the general public place Free bogalusa, franklinton and washington parish classifieds, just the the timberlands. Once people find out, thatn the ads are free and that they are online 24 hours a day, there would be a slew of people visiting the site on a daily basis to find the bargains. This would put the news site into a position where they could sell ads online. Second, it would give the daily news more content and generate sales because the paper goes out almost everyday, and therefore have more reasons for a lot of people to buy the paper on a daily basis, increasing readership and making it a viable place for businesses to place ads, simply because the ads would be seen by people other than their own Momma.
This is not rocket science, but, I guess the people at the daily news are not smart enough to pour piss out of a boot with the directions on the heel!

Bailed Out Banks Urged To Assist Homeowners by Bridget Toomey
As President Barack Obama and his key advisors consider how to spend the rest of the bailout funds, it is reported that President Obama would like to make sure that the banks that have been bailed out do more to assist in this lending crisis. Obama and new Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner are trying to take every measure possible to bring both consumer and investor confidence back into the economy.
Banks are being blamed for not doing anything substantial with the funds they have received thus far and many in Washington are still angry with the high bonuses and perks being distributed among the top officials and executives of these corporations.
The real estate industry and especially homeowners are hoping that President Obama will make it compulsory for banks to look at their grievances and assist homeowners with their mortgage situations. Bridget Toomey of the Loan Modification Foundation was quoted as saying "If all banks and mortgage lenders were open to working with homeowners on loan modifications, the foreclosure rates would decrease tremendously and the losses would be minimized for everyone."
Of course she also acknowledges that in the past few months, both banks and mortgage lenders have been more than open to home loan modifications for their customers. A lot of families have been able to save their homes by submitting an application and getting their monthly payment reduced and interest rates modified with the help of a qualified consultant.
Market analysts believe if banks are genuinely pushed by President Obama to work with homeowners to modify loans as a bailout condition, it would help millions of families across the United States while also positively impacting the economy in general.

Las Vegas Hepatitis Scare Linked To Unsafe Medical Practices At Clinic
Because of unsafe medical practices uncovered by investigators at two Las Vegas clinics, more that 50,000 colonoscopy patients may have been exposed to hepatitis C, hepatitis B, HIV or other blood-borne illnesses. So far, more than 850 former patients of the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada and the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center have tested positive for hepatitis C.
During the investigation, health authorities discovered that staff at the two clinics were commonly reusing medical equipment, including syringes, single-use medicine vials, biopsy forceps and the bite blocks used to hold open a patient's mouth during a colonoscopy.
Several staff members who were interview said that they were told to reuse medical equipment by the doctors who owned the Las Vegas clinics. These practices created a risk that an infection could be spread from one patient to another if any of these items became contaminated with the blood of an infected patient.
In addition, investigators discovered that doctors were sometimes performing two colonoscopy exams at the same time, and sometime completing the procedure in as little as two minutes. Experts say that a colonoscopy should take between 15 and 30 minutes, including six minutes alone just to withdraw the endoscope used to perform the exam from a patient's colon. When a colonoscopy is performed this quickly, doctors can miss the signs of serious conditions such as colon cancer which the exam is designed to catch.
Former co-workers say that Dr. Dipak Desai, the main owner of the Gastroenterology Center of Nevada, which oversaw the two clinics, frequently bragged about his "two-minute colonoscopy skills." Staff members say that he and other doctors at the Las Vegas clinics were responsible for the practice of re-using single use medical equipment.
In addition staff members say that they routinely over-billed patients for anesthesia times or ordered unnecessary biopsies in order to drive-up patient costs. Dr. Desai is currently being investigated on possible criminal charges for medical malpractice and insurance fraud.
Health officials have informed the public that anyone treated at either the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada or the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center between March 2004 and January 11, 2008 should visit their doctor in order to be tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV. However, since several patients treated before these dates have already tested positive for hepatitis C, other patients who underwent a procedure may also wish to undergo blood tests in order to check for these diseases.
Several former patients of the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada and the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center have filed lawsuits against Dr. Desai and the two Las Vegas clinics. These patients have alleged that in an attempt to boost profits at the facilities, Dr. Desai and other staff members engaged in unsafe medical practices which may have caused hundreds of patients to become infected with hepatitis C, and thousands more to be exposed to the disease.
Several patients who have not yet become ill but who may have been exposed to hepatitis C or another illness have also filed lawsuits alleging that they suffered emotional strain as a result of potentially becoming infected with a serious blood-borne illness.
